Adult Faith Formation
To engage adults in a life-long process of exploring the values and message of Jesus through community activities that enrich our spiritual, intellectual and social lives that expand and deepen our understanding of the Catholic faith.
JustFAITH group begins in early September. We are called to be compassionate as our God is compassionate. (Luke 6:36). What does the compassion of Christ look like in the modern world? How do I become a more compassionate person? The JustFAITH program is an intensive thirty week process that helps to answer these questions through reflection, study, prayer, and community. For more information about this life-changing program, contact Jane Alderman at 965-5944 email@example.com or Paul Carlson at 964-2620 firstname.lastname@example.org.
FOCCUS is a marriage preparation inventory that helps couples discuss important skills of marriage, including but not limited to sexuality, families of origin, finances, and communication. The inventory is a series of over 100 questions that lead to a discussion facilitated by a trained sponsor couple.
All parishioners, regardless of age, gather together twice a year to celebrate our Church Traditions. At the Epiphany Fair we celebrate the coming of the Magi or Wise Men. Join us to learn about camels, reflect on guiding “stars” in your spiritual life, make a craft, identify your own gifts, and more!
Pentecost is coming of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the church. We gather together to learn more about the third member of the trinity through a dramatic reading, faith sharing, study of symbols and sacraments, making crafts, sharing birthday cake, and more! In 2013, Pentecost Sunday is May 19. Stay tuned for more details!
Another thing we take advantage of at St. Luke’s is learning from our youth. For All Saints/All Souls Day the religious education students study the canonization process, newly appointed saints, teen-age saints, feasts and when they are celebrated, patron saints, and much more! The students’ posters, pamphlets, and drawings are on display after mass.
Parents of our Religious Education Students grades K-5 are invited to the closing of our Mardi Gras celebration. We will show off our masks and other Mardi Gras memorabilia, and then prayerfully turn our hearts toward the sacrifices of Lent. Please join us for this celebration and prayer service.
