Dear St. Luke’s Parishioners,
We are already two to three days into 2016! By now you have recovered from the family Christmas gatherings, survived lots of New Year’s Eve parties and Football Bowl games.
It is a great time to step back a bit and to reflect. We have been greatly blessed during 2015. We continued and completed the building of the St. Luke’s new facilities. We have our own Church. We have our own St. Luke’s Catholic School up and running. Thank You Tonya Eaton, our principal for all the work to get things ready and operational. The Kindergarten through third grades are enjoying their first half of the school year. Thank you as well to Cindy Clefisch who served as our Faith Formation Director for right at four years and completed her work this last October. Thank You Cindy for helping us deal with now right at 200 students in our Religious Education program.
There is great reason to be thankful for all the leadership Councils and committees in our Parish. Parish Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Faith Formation Council, Social Concerns Committee, Welcome Team, St. Luke’s School Board, Liturgy Committee, Stewardship Committee, Family School Association and more have their regular meetings. That is not to mention our Knights of Columbus Council and Scout troops. I am sorry if I have missed any of our parish groups, but they represent how we have grown as a parish and how involved in the daily life of the parish many parishioners have become. Thank you for all the leadership and hard work that you do for St. Luke’s.
Thank you as well for your strong financial support of St. Luke’s. We are able to pay our bills. The Capital Campaign payments are ahead of schedule. We are still receiving some new campaign gifts. All your support is very much appreciated. It represents your need to give as part of your response to the love of God for each of us.
I want to welcome Patsy Carlson as our newest St. Luke’s Staff member. She will be our Faith Formation Director beginning her work January 1, 2016. Welcome Patsy.
During 2016, we will have our focus on the Jubilee Year of Mercy with special focus on the Spiritual and Corporal works of mercy. Be looking for regular information about how to make these works part of your daily lives.
May the blessings of the Lord come to you and your families during this New Year. May you open your hearts and let Jesus Christ come into the deepest part of your soul during the coming months of this year. May you find his Peace and Joy when you do so.
Fr. Larry Hoffmann
