CLASH OF CREEDS
A CLASH OF CREEDS comes to St. Luke the Evangelist on February 22nd
A Clash of Creeds is a live conversation between three historic figures of the 20th century: Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged, and St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, founder of the Missionaries of Charities. To this day, their creeds clash in the public square, houses of worship, and even our families. A Clash of Creeds is dramatically presented in their own words, and moderated by one of the 20th century’s great wits and intellect, G.K. Chesterton. Get ready for great theater! Doors open at 6:15 PM on Friday, February 22nd for wine & appetizers with showtime at 7 PM. A free will offering will be taken up.
Did you miss breakfast?
Sunday, February 17, 2019, the Knights of Columbus, Council 15603 hosted a Fellowship Breakfast. There were slingers and pecan rolls. They were delicious! If you missed out, please try to come next time. All the Knights ask is a free will offering. They host these breakfasts for us. Come on in, let them feed you, and visit with people around you.

Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Winners
In December 2018 the Knights of Columbus sponsored the annual Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest. There were 131 entrants in 3 age groups from the students at St. Luke The Evangelist School and from the parish Religious Education classes. The posters were judged on how well they presented the message that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. One poster from each age group was chosen for submission to the Knights of Columbus State Offices for the statewide competition. Three posters from the state contest will be sent to the Knight’s Supreme Headquarters in Washington, DC for the national contest.
The participants whose posters were chosen for submission to the State are: Grace Ott representing the Kindergarten through Grade 2, Avery Prichard representing Grades 3 through 5 and Lucas Turnis representing Grades 6 through 8. St. Luke’s School students Katie Bair, Ellie Brunkhorst, Ellie Eberhart, Caitlyn Gara, Ethan Ledyard and Fiona Thomas; and, Religious Educations students Olivia Madison, Anna Burkle, Ellie Scheidel and Maizie Smith received Honorable Mention for their posters.
The Knights of Columbus wish to thank Tonya Eaton, Pete Haack and the teachers and staff of St. Luke’s School and the Religious Education Program for their assistance with this contest. We also thank Deacon Fred Cornwell, Terry Kruse, Bruce Mehlhop and Eva and Paul Moritz who served as the judges.
